Garrafo Gorges – Between Rock Walls and Crystal-Clear Water
The Garrafo Gorges, at Acquasanta Terme, are a natural canyon carved by the stream between rock walls and lush forests.
The route, suitable only for experienced hikers, includes sections with fixed ropes and passages through cold water.
A helmet and quality trekking or water shoes are essential for safe movement.
A wild and spectacular place, between the Laga and Sibillini Mountains, where water and stone merge into unique landscapes.
The excursion is not recommended for children and those who suffer from vertigo.

The Garrafo Gorges offer a unique experience, dedicated to those who have basic climbing skills and wish to experience direct contact with the wildest nature.
The route develops along a natural canyon carved by the Garrafo Stream, a small torrent that flows between high rocky walls and lush vegetation.
During the excursion, you will also walk on wall sections, using pre-installed ropes, and in some points, you cross the cold stream water: therefore, water shoes with good grip and a protective helmet are essential, as falling rocks from above are not uncommon.
The route, while scenic, is challenging and not suitable for children or people who suffer from vertigo.
The environment is spectacular: gorges sculpted by water, clear pools, and forests that embrace the stream’s course, in an area that extends between the Laga Mountains and the Sibillini Mountains, in the territory of Acquasanta Terme, just a few kilometers from Ascoli Piceno.
Currently, the gorges are undergoing enhancement and safety improvement works, but the excursion is still recommended only with expert guides – speleological, alpine, or environmental – to tackle the route in complete safety.
